For Adults

Our programs could not work and would not be successful without the support and participation of parents and other adult volunteers who guide and mentor our youth. Their dedication and selfless service plays an important role in the faith development of our children. It is our goal to support those adults who minister to youth.

Adult/Parental Involvement

Following are some tips for involving your parents and adult resources with religious recognition programs:

  • Hold a parent meeting before beginning the program with the youth, outline your objectives and how you would like to involve them
  • Ask your parents if there are particular activities they would feel comfortable leading
  • Recruit knowledgeable adults to help with particular activities (priests, deacons, sisters, DREs, youth ministers, etc.)

If so, kindly e-mail the NCCGSCF.

Program Tips

After you have ordered the religious recognition program materials for your youth, carefully read through the program before you begin. Remember these programs are not to be like school and therefore, it is best to set a reasonable time frame for completion.

Spiritual Development

Adults who minister to youth need to take care of their own spiritual development. It is strongly recommended that these adults continue to nourish themselves spiritually through daily prayer, retreats, days of reflection, and other spiritual avenues.
